Publish a conversation

Updated October 23, 2026

Publishing makes a read-only, public snapshot of a chat. Nothing is published until you confirm.

Steps

  1. Open the chat, click ⋯ at the top and choose Publish conversation. You need to be signed in.
  2. Fill in the title and an optional description (up to 160 characters).
  3. Choose a category and add up to five tags.
  4. Decide whether to show your name as author and whether readers can download the page as Markdown or JSON.
  5. Under messages included, untick any messages you do not want public.
  6. Click Preview to see exactly how the page will look, then Publish.

After publishing

You get the real link, a copy button, and share buttons for WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn and your device's share sheet. Instagram has no web share link, so copy the link and paste it into your bio or story.

Important

  • The page is public. Do not include private or sensitive information.
  • The page is a snapshot and does not update when you keep chatting.
  • A published chat shows a Published badge in its header, and the ⋯ menu changes to Manage publication.

To change or remove a page, see My publications.
